When John heard in prison what the Messiah was doing, he sent word by his disciples
For Herod had arrested John, bound him, and put him in prison on account of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife,
Now after John was arrested, Jesus came to Galilee proclaiming the good news of God
For Herod himself had sent men who arrested John, bound him, and put him in prison on account of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife, because Herod had married her.
But they were insistent and said, “He stirs up the people by teaching throughout all Judea, from Galilee where he began even to this place.”
Then Jesus, in the power of the Spirit, returned to Galilee, and a report about him spread through all the surrounding region.
He went down to Capernaum, a city in Galilee, and was teaching them on the Sabbath.
The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, “Follow me.”
Jesus did this, the first of his signs, in Cana of Galilee and revealed his glory, and his disciples believed in him.
Now this was the second sign that Jesus did after coming from Judea to Galilee.
