“Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a holy Sabbath of solemn rest to the Lord; whoever does any work on it shall be put to death.

a man was there with a withered hand, and they asked him, “Is it lawful to cure on the Sabbath?” so that they might accuse him.


He said to them, “Have you not read what David did when he and his companions were hungry?


The Pharisees said to him, “Look, why are they doing what is not lawful on the Sabbath?”


And Jesus asked the experts in the law and Pharisees, “Is it lawful to cure people on the Sabbath or not?”


Then they returned and prepared spices and ointments. On the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment.


But some of the Pharisees said, “Why are you doing what is not lawful on the Sabbath?”
