The human mind may devise many plans, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will be established.


I know, O Lord, that the way of humans is not in their control, that mortals as they walk cannot direct their steps.


But Jesus answered him, “Let it be so now, for it is proper for us in this way to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he consented.


but on taking leave of them he said, “I will return to you, if God wills.” Then he set sail from Ephesus.


asking that by God’s will I may somehow at last succeed in coming to you.


But I will come to you soon, if the Lord wills, and I will find out not the talk of these arrogant people but their power.


Since I was sure of this, I wanted to come to you first, so that you might have a double favor;


Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wishes, we will live and do this or that.”
