Jeremiah 40 - The Scriptures 1998

¹ The word that came to Yirmeyahu from יהוה  after Neḇ

² And the chief of the guard took Yirmeyahu and said to him, “יהוה  your Elohim has spoken this evil on this place.

³ “And יהוה  has brought it on, and has done, as He has said. Because you have sinned against יהוה, and did not obey His voice, therefore this matter has come upon you.

⁴ “And now, see, I loosen you today from the chains that were on your hand. If it seems good to you to come with me to Baḇ

⁵ And before he replied, Neḇ

⁶ So Yirmeyahu went to Geḏ

⁷ And all the commanders of the armies who were in the fields, they and their men, heard that the sovereign of Baḇ

⁸ So they came to Geḏ

⁹ And Geḏ

¹⁰ “And I, see, I am dwelling at Mitspah, to serve the Chaldeans who come to us. But you, gather wine and summer fruit and oil, and put them in your vessels, and dwell in your cities which you have taken.”

¹¹ Also, when all the Yehuḏ

¹² then all the Yehuḏ

¹³ And Yoḥ

¹⁴ and they said to him, “Do you know that Baʽ

¹⁵ Then Yoḥ

¹⁶ But Geḏ
