2 Chronicles 21 - The Scriptures 1998

¹ And Yehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the City of Dawiḏ

² And he had brothers, the sons of Yehoshaphat: Azaryahu, and Yeḥ

³ And their father gave them many gifts of silver and gold and precious items, with walled cities in Yehuḏ

⁴ And when Yehoram had risen up over the reign of his father and made himself strong, he slew all his brothers with the sword, and also others of the heads of Yisra’ĕ

⁵ Yehoram was thirty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in Yerushalayim.

⁶ And he walked in the way of the sovereigns of Yisra’ĕ

⁷ However, יהוה  would not destroy the house of Dawiḏ

⁸ In his days the Eḏ

⁹ Then Yehoram went out with his officers, and all his chariots with him. And it came to be that he rose by night and smote the Eḏ

¹⁰ Thus the Eḏ

¹¹ He had also made high places in the mountains of Yehuḏ

¹² And a letter came to him from Ě

¹³ but have walked in the way of the sovereigns of Yisra’ĕ

¹⁴ see, יהוה  is going to strike with a great blow among your people, your children, your wives, and all your possessions,

¹⁵ and you, with many sicknesses, with disease of your intestines, until your intestines come out because of the sickness, day by day.”

¹⁶ And יהוה  stirred up the spirit of the Philistines against Yehoram, and of the Araḇ

¹⁷ And they came up into Yehuḏ

¹⁸ And after all this יהוה  plagued him in his intestines with a disease for which there was no healing.

¹⁹ And it came to be in the course of time, at the end of two years, that his intestines came out because of his sickness, and he died in great pain. And his people made no burning for him, like the burning for his fathers.

²⁰ He was thirty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in Yerushalayim, to no one’s regret, and passed away. And they buried him in the City of Dawiḏ
