2 Chronicles 14 - The Scriptures 1998

¹ So Aḇ

² And Asa did what was good and what was right in the eyes of יהוה  his Elohim,

³ and removed the altars of the stranger, and the high places, and broke down the pillars and cut down the Ashĕ

⁴ and commanded Yehuḏ

⁵ And he removed the high places and the sun-pillars from all the cities of Yehuḏ

⁶ And he built cities of defence in Yehuḏ

⁷ And he said to Yehuḏ

⁸ And Asa had an army of three hundred thousand men from Yehuḏ

⁹ And Zeraḥ

¹⁰ And Asa went out against him, and they set battle in array in the Valley of Tsephathah at Marĕ

¹¹ And Asa called to יהוה  his Elohim, and said, “יהוה, there is no one but You to help between the mighty and the powerless. Help us, O יהוה  our Elohim, for we rest on You, and in Your Name we go against this crowd. O יהוה, You are our Elohim, do not let man prevail against You!”

¹² So יהוה  smote the Kushites before Asa and Yehuḏ

¹³ And Asa and the people who were with him pursued them to Gerar. And the Kushites fell, until none was left alive for them, for they were broken before יהוה  and His army. And they took very much spoil,

¹⁴ and smote all the cities around Gerar, for the fear of יהוה  came upon them. And they plundered all the cities, for there was exceedingly much spoil in them.

¹⁵ And they also smote the camps of the herdsmen, and captured many sheep and camels, and returned to Yerushalayim.
