1 Chronicles 5 - The Scriptures 19981 As for the sons of Re’uḇ 2 for Yehuḏ 3 the sons of Re’uḇ 4 The sons of Yo’ĕ 5 Miḵ 6 and Be’ĕ 7 And his brothers by their clans, when the genealogy of their generations was registered: the chief, Yeʽ 8 and Bela son of Azaz, son of Shema, son of Yo’ĕ 9 And he dwelt eastward as far as the entrance of the wilderness from the River Euphrates, because their livestock had increased in the land of Gilʽ 10 And in the days of Sha’ul they fought against the Hagrites, who fell by their hand. And they dwelt in their tents over all the eastern part of Gilʽ 11 And the children of Gaḏ 12 Yo’ĕ 13 and their brothers of their father’s house: Miḵ 14 These were the children of Aḇ 15 Aḥ 16 And they dwelt in Gilʽ 17 All these were registered by genealogies in the days of Yotham sovereign of Yehuḏ 18 The sons of Re’uḇ 19 And they fought against the Hagrites, and Yetur, and Naphish, and Noḏ 20 And they were helped against them, and the Hagrites were given into their hand, and all who were with them. For they cried out to Elohim in the battle, and He answered their prayer, because they put their trust in Him. 21 And they took away their livestock: fifty thousand of their camels, and two hundred and fifty thousand of their sheep, and two thousand of their donkeys, also one hundred thousand of their men, 22 for many fell dead, because the battle was of Elohim. And they dwelt in their place until the exile. 23 And the children of the half-tribe of Menashsheh dwelt in the land. They increased from Bashan to Baʽ 24 And these were the heads of their fathers’ houses: Ě 25 But they trespassed against the Elohim of their fathers, and whored after the mighty ones of the peoples of the land, whom Elohim had destroyed before them. 26 So the Elohim of Yisra’ĕ |
