(Hoshea 2, 25) 11 beloved, I implore you (PL) as aliens and exiles, keep yourselves back from the fleshly lusts, which wage war against the soul; 12 lead a good life among the nations (of the world), so that in that, in which they speak up of you (PL) as of unrighteous, yet, seeing your (PL) deeds good, shall they give glory to Hashem in the Day of Reckoning. 13 submit yourselves to every human ordinance on account of the L-rd; both to the king, as to an overlord; 14 also to governors, as to Shlichim from him (the King, 2:13) to punish criminals and to the praise of the (ones), who do good (things). 15 because in this way is it Hashem's will, that with your doing good shall you (PL) bring to the silence the ignorance of foolish men; 16 as free (men) and yet not as you (PL) would have the freedom as a cover for evil, but as Hashem's servants. 17 give (to) everyone up honor. have love the brotherhood. have fear before Hashem. give up honor the king. 18 you (PL) slaves, be subject to your (PL) masters with every respect; not only to the good and gentle themselves, but also to the bad. 19 because the these is a favor with Hashem, when on account of the conscience before Hashem, one endure grief, suffering unjustly. 20 because who for a honor is it, if you (PL) sinned self and you gives (to) you (PL) beatings, and you (PL) are patient? but if doing good (things) suffer you (PL) and are patient, (look) that is a favor with Hashem. 21 because thereto are you (PL) called become; because also Moshiach did suffer for your sake, and left an example for you (PL), so that you (PL) shall follow his footsteps; 22 who has any sin not done, not is found become a falseness in His mouth; 23 who, becoming reviled, did not reviled in return; suffering, did not threaten, but Himself given over to the Judge Righteousness; 24 who did Himself carried away our sin in the body his on the tree, so that we, dying concerning the sin, shall live to righteousness; by whose wounds you (PL) are healed become. 25 because you (PL) were like straying sheep, but now have you (PL) yourselves returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your (PL) souls.
