Psalm 140 - King James 3 - The Literal Traslation1 To the chief musician. A Psalm of David. O Jehovah, deliver me from the evil man; guard me from the man of violence, 2 who devises evil things in the heart; they gather wars all the day. 3 They sharpen their tongues like a snake; adders’ poison is under their lips. Selah. 4 O Jehovah, keep me from the hands of the wicked one; guard me from the man of violence who plan to trip up my steps. 5 The proud ones have hidden a trap and cords for me; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set snares for me. Selah. 6 I said to Jehovah, You are my God; O Jehovah, give ear to the voice of my prayers. 7 O Jehovah the Lord, the strength of my salvation, You have covered my head in the day of armor. 8 O Jehovah, do not grant the desires of the wicked one; do not promote his plan, lest they be exalted. Selah. 9 As for the head of those around me, let the evil of their own lips cover them. 10 Make coals of fire to fall on them; let them fall into pits; they shall not rise again. 11 Do not let a man of tongue be established in the earth; evil shall hunt the violent man, thrust upon thrust. 12 I know that Jehovah will maintain the cause of the afflicted ones, the justice of the poor ones . 13 Surely the righteous ones shall give thanks to Your name; the upright ones shall dwell in Your presence. |
