The Lord my Great Lord.
God is the Master and majestic Lord. God is our authority.
Psalms 8 Isaiah 40:3-5 Ezekiel 16:8 Habakkuk 3:19.
Adonai is the plural of Adon. This term is the verbal parallel to Yahweh, Jehovah and YHWH (which was considered too holy to be pronounced). The word "Adonai" is not a proper noun nor is it directly a name of God. It is an emphatic form of the word "Adon" which means "lord" or "master". That is an statement of someone who is above everyone else, the one who is superior, that is why its common use is THE LORD.
Jesus is our master.
Master or Rabbi was the name given to those who instructed others in the knowing of God. Jesus is the origin of the truth of God. He is the only master who can show us the way. In spite of the different opinions about the methods of the Lord Jesus, the truth is that he was the Supreme Master, and no master throughout history has been able to overcome him, his way of teaching, his didactic skills, his treat to others, his clear and practical examples. Therefore, his easy and understandable doctrine had an universal reach, and, at the same time the hearts of those who listened to him were captivated. There is no doubt, Christ model on this matter is worthy of imitation. There are many Christians who accept Jesus as the Master. Although, we have to admit that this statement will only make sense as long as we are his disciples. With this idea, we must keep in mind that to be disciples of Christ, we need to fulfil certain conditions that he himself established in his Word, "If anyone comes to me and does not hate ( he puts them in a second place or a lower position) father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, such a person cannot be my disciple... And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple... In the same way, those of you who do not give up everything you have cannot be my disciples" (Luke 14:26,27,33). We need to understand these verses because being a disciple of Jesus does not consist in look down on others, or get rid of big or small possessions, or reject all that we are. But to be disciple of Jesus a disposition of heart is needed, where there are no obstacles that could interfere in the process. This way our whole being (soul and body), material possessions, as our personal relationship or relatives, must be subordinated to the Master's will.
Rabi, master (John 20:16) Truth (John 14:6-7).
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God ( John 1:1).
