The Lord my Great Lord.
God is the Master and majestic Lord. God is our authority.
Psalms 8 Isaiah 40:3-5 Ezekiel 16:8 Habakkuk 3:19.
Adonai is the plural of Adon. This term is the verbal parallel to Yahweh, Jehovah and YHWH (which was considered too holy to be pronounced). The word "Adonai" is not a proper noun nor is it directly a name of God. It is an emphatic form of the word "Adon" which means "lord" or "master". That is an statement of someone who is above everyone else, the one who is superior, that is why its common use is THE LORD.
Jesus is the light.
The shining of Jesus reveals God to us. To know Jesus is to know God. Those who follow Jesus will never walk in darkness (John 8:12). Reading the Holy Scriptures, in the book of John chapter 8 verse 12 Jesus affirms, "I am the light of the world, whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life". This affirmation seems to be exaggerated, as the Pharisees thought. However, Jesus strongly responds to them, "even if I testify about myself, my testimony is valid. For I know where I came from and where I am going, but you don't know where I come or where I`m going". Almost two thousands years later, we know for sure that Jesus was telling the truth because the transformation that many have experienced in their lives, testify so. What Jesus wants to teach us in this verse is that as Christians we must testify that we are the light of the world just as he stated before the Pharisees that it wasn't just his testimony but that the Father who sent him also gave testimony of him.
Light ( John 1:4-5) Radiance of the glory of God (Hebrews 1:3).
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God ( John 1:1).
