Jesus is our gateway.
Jesus is the way to get to God. He is the only way to heaven. The Lor Jesus presents himself as the gate of salvation, "I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture" (John 10:9). Let's analyze each word in this statement: "I am the gate". The personal pronoun "I" refers, obviously, to the Lord Jesus. When he says "I am the gate", he is excluding everyone and everything else. Therefore the church is not the gate. ( This means that any church that claims to be the salvation is not a true church of the Lord). The pastor or priests are not the door either, because a man can proclaim the Gospel and point at the door to everyone who listen to him, but he is not the door. The sacraments (or the baptism, the Lord's supper, and the washing of the feet) are not the door either. The good works, although believers are encouraged to do so, are not the gate. The Lord himself is the door! He says, "no one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). It's written, "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12).
