The lord our righteousness.
Jesus is the king who would come from David's lineage, and is who imparts us his justice.
Jeremiah 23:5-6; 33:16 2 Corinthians 5:21.
Also known as Yahweh Tsidkenu. All people have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. But he has made us free through Christ (Romans 3:22-23) God promises to send a king that would rule wisely and who will do what is right and just. People will live in safety (Jeremiah 23:5-6). Jehovah Tsidkenu is a compound name related to God as a Judge, God as our justice or God of justice. There could be no justice in the universe if God were not for the fact that God is a God of justice. This name of God, used by the prophet Jeremiah, and is a word game with the name of the king Zedekiah who was a king absolutely disobedient to God's commands. That name comes out of a messianic prophecy about the true justice that one day the Messiah was going to bring to his people. God is a righteous God and he himself will declare his people righteous by the blood of Christ.
