The Lord is my banner.
God grants us the victory over the flesh, the world and the devil. Our battles are his battles of light versus darkness and good versus evil.
Exodus 17:15-16 Deuteronomy 20:3-4 Isaiah 11:10-12.
Also known as Yahweh-Nissi. Is the name given by Moses to the altar he erected on the hill at Rephidim after Israel defeated their enemies the Amalekites. Isaiah prophesied that "the root of Jesse (Jesus) will stand as a banner for the peoples" (Isaiah 11:10). God grants us the victory over the flesh, the world and the devil. Our battles are his battles of light versus darkness and good versus evil. We all have enemies to overcome. We cannot defeat them by ourselves. We need the divine help. Is in those cases when our prayers must be constantly activated toward the throne of God. We also must have our hands uplifted. Persevere in action without fainting. In the biblical story we see how Joshua fought until the sun set, this is, until the day was over and he had defeated his enemy. If we want to have victory over our enemies, we must persevere to the end.
