Don’t reprove a scoffer, lest he hate you. Reprove a wise person, and he will love you.

Let the righteous strike me, it is kindness; let him reprove me, it is like oil on the head; don’t let my head refuse it; Yet my prayer is always against evil deeds.


Poverty and shame come to those who refuses discipline, but whoever heeds correction will be honored.

King David said, “Y’all must summon Zadok the priest, Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada.” They came before the king.


The wise in heart accept commandments, but a chattering fool will fall.


A wise son heeds his father’s instruction, but a scoffer doesn’t listen to rebuke.


Flog a scoffer, and the simple will learn prudence; rebuke one who has understanding, and he will gain knowledge.


But they remained silent and said nothing in reply, because the king’s commandment was, “Y’all must not answer him.”


that the wise may hear, and increase in learning; that the person of understanding may attain to sound counsel;


Buy the truth, and don’t sell it. Get wisdom, discipline, and understanding.
