I find more bitter than death the woman whose heart is snares and traps, whose hands are chains. Whoever pleases God must escape from her, but the sinner will be ensnared by her.
My soul is among lions. I lie among those who are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword. It pierces to the point of dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
