Moreover, wine betrays the arrogant man: He is not at rest. He enlarges his appetite like Sheol, he is like death and can’t be satisfied, He gathers to himself all nations and gathers all peoples to himself.


“You must not deny justice to your poor people in their lawsuits.


“You and your sons are not to drink wine or beer whenever y’all go into the Tent of Meeting, or y’all will die. This is a permanent statute throughout y’all’s generations.


You must not pervert justice. You must not show partiality. You must not take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and perverts the words of the righteous.


When Ben Hadad heard this message as he was drinking, he and the kings in the pavilions, he said to his servants, “Y’all prepare to attack!” So they prepared to attack the city.


The one who justifies the wicked and the one who condemns the righteous, both of them are an abomination to YHWH.


To be partial to the faces of the wicked is not good, nor to deprive the innocent of justice.


Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine, and champions at mixing strong drink,


who acquit the guilty for a bribe, but deny justice for the innocent!
