The hardworking farmer should be the first to get a share of the crops.


What soldier ever serves at their own expense? Who plants a vineyard, and doesn’t eat of its fruit? Or who shepherds a flock, and doesn’t drink from the flock’s milk?


My own vineyard is before me. The thousand are for you, Solomon, two hundred for those who tend its fruit.


Now the one who plants and the one who waters are the same, and each will receive a reward according to their own labor.


Blessed are those servants whose master finds alert when he comes. Truly I tell y’all that he will dress himself to serve, have them recline at the table, and will come and serve them.


If anyone serves me, let them follow me. Where I am, there my deacon will also be. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor them.


“The king said to him, ‘Well done, good servant! Because you have been faithful with very little, you will have authority over ten cities.’


Blessed is that servant whom the master finds at work when they return.


Do you see someone skilled in their work? That one will serve kings, not stand before obscure people.


To this y’all were called, because Christ suffered for y’all, leaving an example, so that y’all would follow his steps.


Servants, submit to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and equitable ones, but also to those who are crooked.


Slaves, obey y’all’s earthly masters in everything, not just when they are looking, as people pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing God.


Don’t y’all know that those who serve in the temple eat from the temple, and those who wait on the altar have their share from the altar?


When the angel who spoke to him had departed, Cornelius called two of his household servants and a devout soldier who was one of his attendants.


But it is not so among y’all. Instead whoever wants to become great among y’all must be y’all’s deacon.

Y’all must not listen to Hezekiah.’ For the king of Assyria says, ‘Y’all must make your peace with me, and come* out to me. Then each of y’all will eat from his own vine and fig tree and drink water from his own cistern


As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens their friend.


Like water reflects a face, so a person’s heart reflects the person.


Y’all shouldn’t listen to Hezekiah, for the king of Assyria says, ‘Y’all must make your peace with me, and come out to me. Each of y’all will eat from their own vine, and their own fig tree, and drink the waters of their own cistern;


Then Haman took the clothing and the horse, and arrayed Mordecai, and had him ride through the city square, and proclaimed before him, “Thus it will be done for the man the king delights to honor!”
