Wisdom is before the face of one who has understanding, but the eyes of a fool wander to the ends of the earth.

The wise person has eyes in their head, but the fool walks in darkness. Yet I came to realize that the same event comes to them all.


Who is like the wise? And who knows the interpretation of a thing? A human’s wisdom makes their face shine, and its hardness is changed.


For all that is in the world—the desire of the flesh, the desire of the eyes, and the pride of life—isn’t the Father’s, but is the world’s.


Better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of the desire. This also is emptiness and a chasing after wind.
