YHWH is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.


The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination— how much more, when he brings it with a wicked mind!


I know also, my God, that you try the heart and have pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things. Now I have seen with joy your people, who are present here, offer willingly to you.


To what purpose does frankincense from Sheba come to me, and the sweet cane from a far country? Y’all’s burnt offerings are not acceptable, and y’all’s sacrifices are not pleasing to me.”


He who turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.

Yes, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delights in their abominations.

Listen, YHWH, to my righteous plea. Open your ears to my prayer, it does not proceed from deceitful lips.


If any of the meat of his peace offering sacrifice is eaten-eaten on the third day, it will not be accepted, and it will not be credited to one who offers it. It will be an abomination, and the soul who eats any of it will bear his iniquity.


What the wicked fear will overtake them, but the desire of the righteous will be granted.

To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to YHWH than sacrifice.


Will YHWH be pleased with thousands of rams? With ten thousand rivers of oil? Should I give my firstborn for my rebellion? The fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?


Then Haggai answered, “‘So is this people, and so is this nation before me,’ says YHWH; ‘and so is every work of their hands. That which they offer there is unclean.


Absalom sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David’s counselor, from his city, even from Giloh, while he was offering the sacrifices. The conspiracy was strong, for the people increased continually with Absalom.


This request pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing.


Let my prayer be set before you like incense; the lifting up of my hands like the evening sacrifice.

How should I come before YHWH, and bow myself before the exalted God? Should I come before ʜɪᴍ with burnt offerings, with yearling calves?


“Oh that there were one of y’all who would shut the temple doors, so that y’all would not uselessly kindle fire on my altar! I am not pleased with y’all,” says YHWH Almighty, “nor will I accept an offering from your* hand.
