But sanctify Christ as Lord in y’all’s hearts. Always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks y’all to give a reason for the hope that is in y’all. But do this with gentleness and reverence,


A fool lets out all their rage, but a wise person brings holds it back.


Don’t be rash with your mouth, and don’t let your heart be hasty to utter anything before God; for God is in heaven, and you on earth. Therefore let your words be few.


The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouths of fools gush out folly.


Brood of vipers, how can y’all, being evil, say anything good? For from what fills the heart, the mouth speaks.


Don’t allow your mouth to lead you into sin. Don’t protest before the messenger that this was a mistake. Why should God be angry at your voice, and destroy the work of your hands?


Do you see a person who speaks hastily? There is more hope for a fool than for them.


The heart of the wise instructs their mouth, and increases the persuasiveness of their lips.


All who are prudent act from knowledge, but a fool exposes folly.


In the multitude of words there is no lack of disobedience, but he who restrains his lips does wisely.


As they speak with high-sounding but empty words, they entice to the desires of the flesh and sensuality, those who are have barely escaped from those who live in error,


See what they spew from their mouth. With swords on their lips, they think, “Who can hear us?”


The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked is perverse.
