For what does it benefit a human if they gain the whole world but forfeit their life? Or what can a human give in exchange for their soul?


Satan answered YHWH, and said, “Skin for skin. Yes, all that a man has he will give for his life.


But I will leave among you an afflicted and poor people, and they will take refuge in the name of YHWH.


But ten men were found among those who said to Ishmael, “Don’t kill us! We have stores of wheat barley, oil, and honey hidden in the field.” So he stopped, and didn’t kill them among with their companions.


But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left of the poor of the people, who had nothing, in the land of Judah, and gave them vineyards and fields at the same time.


He won’t regard any ransom, neither will he rest content, though you give many gifts.


But the captain of the guard left some of the poorest of the land to work the vineyards and fields.


He carried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valor, even ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and the smiths. No one remained except the poorest people of the land.


If a ransom is imposed on him, then he must give for the redemption of his life whatever is imposed.


There are some who pretend to be rich, yet have nothing. There are some who pretend to be poor, yet have great wealth.


The light of the righteous shines brightly, but the lamp of the wicked is snuffed out.


The crown of the wise is their riches, but the folly of fools crowns them with folly.


For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes.
