Because you say, ‘I am wealthy and have become wealthy, and I need nothing.’ But you don’t know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked.

Y’all are already satisfied. Y’all have already become rich. Y’all have come to reign without us. Yes, and I wish that y’all did reign, that we also might reign with y’all!


Y’all must sell your possessions and give to the poor. Y’all must make purses for yourselves that won’t wear out, an unfailing treasure in heaven where no thief approaches and no moth destroys.

A rich person may be ransomed for their life, but the poor person hears no threats.
