He directed the crowd to sit down on the ground. He took the seven loaves and gave thanks, then he broke them and gave them to his disciples to serve, and they served the crowd.
The one who observes the day does so to the Lord. The one who eats, eats to the Lord and gives thanks to God. The one who doesn’t eat, does so to the Lord and gives God thanks.
Blessed are those servants whose master finds alert when he comes. Truly I tell y’all that he will dress himself to serve, have them recline at the table, and will come and serve them.
While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after he had given thanks, he broke it. He gave to the disciples and said, “Y’all take and eat. This is my body.”
As soon as y’all have come into the city, y’all will immediately find him before he goes up to the high place to eat. The people will not eat until he comes, because he blesses the sacrifice. Afterwards those who are invited eat. Now therefore go up, for at this time y’all will find him.”
