Although Herod wanted to put him to death, he feared the crowd, because they considered him a prophet.


He was a lamp that was burning and shining, and y’all were willing to rejoice for a while in his light.

They were all astounded and nonplussed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?”


Now when the high priest, the captain of the temple guard, and the chief priests heard this report, they were very bewildered, wondering what would come of this.
