Lot went out, and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were pledged to marry his daughters, and said, “Y’all get up and get out of this place! For YHWH will destroy the city!” But he seemed to his sons-in-law to be joking.


What enters into the mouth doesn’t defile a human, but what comes out of the mouth, that defiles the human.”


He went in and said to them, “Why are y’all making a commotion and weeping? The child is not dead, but is asleep.”


Taking the child by the hand, he said to her, “Talitha koum!” which translated means, “Little girl, I tell you, get up!”
