“To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: “Thus says the holy one, the true one, the one who holds the key of David, who opens and no one can shut, and who shuts and no one opens:
When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell down before him, shouting with a loud voice, “What do I have to do with you, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, don’t torment me!”
The angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore the one who is to be born will be holy and will be called the Son of God.
“The truth is that Herod and Pontius Pilate gathered together in this city with the ethnic groups and the people of Israel against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed,
“What things?” he asked them. They replied, “The things about Jesus the Nazarene. He was a prophet, powerful in deed and word before God and all the people.
Then all the people of the surrounding region of the Gerasenes asked Jesus to depart from them, for they were very gripped by great fear. So he got into the boat and returned.
Isn’t this the word that we spoke to you in Egypt, saying, ‘Leave us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians?’ For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness.”
“Seventy weeks are decreed on your people and on your holy city, to finish disobedience, to make an end of sins, to make reconciliation for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy.
He said to them, “Y’all don’t be alarmed. You* are looking for Jesus, the Nazarene, who has been crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him!
