In the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, when Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea, Herod was tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip tetrarch of the region of Ituraea and Trachonitis, and Lysanias was tetrarch of Abilene,


The king stood up along with the governor, Bernice, and those who were seated with them.


“Claudius Lysias, To the most excellent governor Felix: Greetings.


When Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews united with one mind to attack Paul and brought him before the place of judgment,


who was with the proconsul Sergius Paulus, an intelligent man. This man summoned Barnabas and Saul, and sought to hear the word of God.


After him, Judas of Galilee rose up in the days of the census, and he invited people to follow him in revolt. He also died, and all of his followers were scattered.


The report about him went out into all Syria. They brought to him all who were sick, afflicted with various diseases and torments, possessed with demons, epileptics, and paralytics. And he healed them.


Now in those days, a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that a census should be taken of all the known world.


And everyone went to register, each to their own town.
