Then the Jews answered him, “Aren’t we correct in saying that you are a Samaritan, and are possessed by a demon?”

The multitude answered, “You have a demon! Who is trying to kill you?”


Then the Jews said to him, “Now we know that you have a demon! Abraham died, and so did the prophets, yet you say, ‘If anyone keeps my word, they will never taste of death.’


Many of them said, “He has a demon and is insane! Why do y’all listen to him?”


So the Samaritan woman said to him, “How can you, a Jew, ask me, a Samaritan woman, for a drink?” (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.)


Hypocrites! Isaiah prophesied correctly about y’all,


But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, “This man does not cast out demons except by Beelzebul, the ruler of the demons.”


It is enough for a disciple to be like their teacher, and the servant like their master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more the members of his household!


Jesus sent out these twelve and commanded them, saying, “Y’all are not to go among the ethnic groups or enter into any city of the Samaritans.


You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe—and shudder.


For even Christ didn’t please himself. But as it is written, “The insults of those who insulted you fell on me.”


Y’all call me, ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord’ and y’all are right, for that is what I am.


He was despised and rejected by men, a man of suffering and acquainted with disease. He was despised as one from whom men hide their face; and we didn’t respect him.


YHWH, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, says to him whom man despises, to him whom the nation abhors, to a servant of rulers: “Kings will see and rise up, princes, and they will worship, because of YHWH who is faithful, even the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.”


So, let us go to him outside of the camp, bearing the abuse he bore.


Therefore I tell y’all, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven of humans, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.


For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’


This is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?”


Then the Jews said, “Perhaps he is going to kill himself, because he says, ‘Where I am going, y’all can’t come’?”
