A slave doesn’t live in the house forever, but a son remains forever.
“The father said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and everything I have is yours.
Therefore she said to Abraham, “Cast out this servant and her son! For the son of this servant will not be heir with my son, Isaac.”
But if he gives a gift from his inheritance to one of his servants, it will be his until the year of freedom; then it will return to the prince. His inheritance will be for his sons.
