This is the one who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not in the water only, but in the water and the blood. And the Spirit is the one who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.

and this is a symbol of the baptism which now saves y’all (not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but the pledge of a good conscience toward God) through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
who gave himself for us, in order to redeem us from all lawlessness and purify for himself a people for his own possession, eager to do excellent works.
Such were some of y’all. But y’all were washed, y’all were sanctified, y’all were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God.
