After this, Jesus, knowing that all things had now been finished in fulfillment of Scripture, said, “I am thirsty!”

They also gave me poison for my food. In my thirst, they gave me vinegar to drink.


My strength is dried up like a potsherd. My tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth. You have brought me into the dust of death.


When Jesus had received the vinegar, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.


For I tell y’all, that which is written must be completed in me: ‘He was counted among the transgressors.’ For what was written about me is reaching completion.”


So they said to one another, “Let’s not tear it, but cast lots for it to decide whose it will be.” This happened so that the Scripture would be fulfilled, which says, “They divided my garments among them. They cast lots for my clothing.” So the soldiers did these things.


Then he took the twelve aside and said to them, “Look, we are going up to Jerusalem, and everything that is written in the prophets about the Son of Humanity will come to completion.


So Jesus, knowing everything that was going to happen to him, went out and said to them, “Who are y’all looking for?”


It was just before the feast of the Passover. Jesus, knowing that the time had come when he would depart from this world to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.


When they had completed all that was written about him, they took him down from the tree and laid him in a tomb.


They appeared in glory and spoke of his departure, which he was about to accomplish in Jerusalem.


But I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is finished!


Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of ʜɪᴍ who sent me and to accomplish ʜɪꜱ work.


I glorified you on the earth by accomplishing the work you gave me to do.


For these things happened that the Scripture might be fulfilled, “Not a bone of his will be broken.”
