In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon, Daniel had a dream and visions in his head while on his bed. Then he wrote the dream and told the sum of the matters.
“It will happen afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; and y’all’s sons and daughters will prophesy. Y’all’s old men will dream dreams. Y’all’s young men will see visions.
The prophet who has a dream, let him tell a dream; and he who has my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the straw to the wheat?” says YHWH.
“I saw in the night visions, and there came with the clouds of the sky one like a son of humanity, and he came even to the Ancient of Days, and they brought him near before him.
He said, “Now y’all listen to my words. If there is a prophet among y’all, I, YHWH, will make myself known to him in a vision. I will speak with him in a dream.
When the seven thunders had spoken, I was about to write, but I heard a sound from the sky saying, “Seal up the things which the seven thunders uttered, and do not write them.”
For whatever was written in the past was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
“After this I saw visions in the night, and suddenly a fourth beast appeared, awesome, powerful, and exceedingly strong. It had great iron teeth. It devoured and broke in pieces, and stamped the residue with its feet. It was different from all the animals that were before it. It had ten horns.
Now in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the river Chebar, the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.
Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah, and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all YHWH’s words, which he had spoken to him, on the scroll.
All the nations will serve him, his son, and his son’s son, until the time of his own land comes. Then many nations and great kings will make him their bondservant.
Then Jeremiah took another scroll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah, who wrote what Jeremiah dictated, all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire. And many similar words were added to them.
In the visions of God he brought me into the land of Israel, and set me down on a very high mountain, on which was something like the frame of a city to the south.
