Therefore having been exalted to the right hand of God and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out what y’all now see and hear.
When he had them gathered together, he commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, “Which,” he said, “y’all heard about from me.
‘It will be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh. Y’all’s sons and y’all’s daughters will prophesy. Y’all’s young men will see visions. Y’all’s old men will dream dreams.
But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach y’all all things and will remind y’all of all that I said to y’all.
Therefore I will give him a portion with the great. He will divide the plunder with the strong, because he poured out his soul to death and was counted with the transgressors; yet he bore the sins of many and made intercession for the transgressors.
And look! I am sending the promise of my Father upon y’all. But y’all are to wait in the city of Jerusalem until y’all are clothed with power from on high.”
But we see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, that by the grace of God he might taste death on behalf of everyone.
