However YHWH, the God of Israel, chose me out of all the house of my father to be king over Israel forever. For he has chosen Judah to be prince; and in the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel.


For YHWH has chosen Zion. Hᴇ has desired it for ʜɪꜱ habitation.


So King Rehoboam strengthened himself in Jerusalem and reigned; for Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which YHWH had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel to put his name there. His mother’s name was Naamah the Ammonitess.


Great is YHWH, and greatly to be praised, in the city of our God, in ʜɪꜱ holy mountain.


YHWH said to Samuel, “How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go. I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have provided a king for myself among his sons.”


What will they answer the messengers of the nation? That YHWH has founded Zion, and in her the afflicted of his people will take refuge.


You are to make an altar of earth for me, and sacrifice your burnt offerings on it along with your peace offerings, your sheep, and your cattle. In every place where I record my name I will come to you and I will bless you.


‘Since the day that I brought my people out of the land of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house in, that my name might be there, and I chose no man to be prince over my people Israel;


YHWH will inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land, and will again choose Jerusalem.


He built altars in the house of YHWH, of which YHWH said, “I will put my name in Jerusalem.”


He set the engraved image of Asherah that he had made in the house of which YHWH said to David and to Solomon his son, “In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put my name forever;


for I have not lived in a house since the day that I brought up Israel to this day, but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tent to another.


“Now therefore, you are to tell my servant David, ‘YHWH Almighty says, “I took you from the sheep pen, from following the sheep, to be prince over my people Israel.


that your eyes may be open toward this house day and night, even toward the place where you have said that you would put your name, to listen to the prayer which your servant will pray toward this place.


For now I have chosen and made this house holy, that my name may be there forever; and my eyes and my heart will be there perpetually.


They lived in it, and have built you a sanctuary in it for your name, saying,


Now y’all must not be stiff-necked like y’all’s ancestors were, but submit your* hand to YHWH. Y’all are to enter into ʜɪꜱ sanctuary, which ʜᴇ has sanctified forever, and serve YHWH y’all’s God, so that ʜɪꜱ burning anger may turn away from y’all.


He built altars in the house of YHWH, of which YHWH said, “My name will remain in Jerusalem forever.”


and all the silver and gold that you will find in all the province of Babylon, with the free will offering of the people and of the priests, offering willingly for the house of their God which is in Jerusalem.


Our feet are standing within your gates, Jerusalem!


YHWH said to Satan, “YHWH rebuke you, Satan! Yes, YHWH who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Isn’t this a burning stick plucked out of the fire?”
