2 Chronicles 34:3

Y'all Version Bible

For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the God of David his father; and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, the Asherah poles, the engraved images, and the molten images.

He did that which was evil in YHWH’s sight, as did Manasseh his father; and Amon sacrificed to all the engraved images which Manasseh his father had made, and served them.


He went out to meet Asa, and said to him, “Y’all listen to me, Asa and all Judah and Benjamin! YHWH is with y’all while y’all are with ʜɪᴍ. If y’all seek him, ʜᴇ will be found by y’all, but if y’all abandon him, ʜᴇ will abandon y’all.


I love those who love me. Those who seek me diligently will find me.


Nevertheless the people still sacrificed in the high places, but only to YHWH their God.


and from infancy you have known the sacred Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.


But y’all seek first the Empire of God and ʜɪꜱ righteousness, and all these things will also be given to y’all.


Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come, and the years draw near, when you will say, “I have no pleasure in them;”


How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word.


They arose and took away the altars that were in Jerusalem, and they took away all the altars for incense and threw them into the brook Kidron.


David the king said to all the assembly, “Solomon my son, whom alone God has chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great; for the palace is not for man, but for YHWH God.


You, Solomon my son, know the God of your father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind; for YHWH searches all hearts, and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever.


David said, “Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be built for YHWH must be exceedingly magnificent, of fame and of glory throughout all countries. I will therefore make preparation for it.” So David prepared abundantly before his death.


He broke in pieces the pillars, cut down the Asherah poles, and filled their places with men’s bones.


The king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the threshold, to bring out of the temple of YHWH all the vessels that were made for Baal, for the Asherah, and for all the army of the sky; and he burned them outside of Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron, and carried their ashes to Bethel.


He removed the high places, broke the pillars, and cut down the Asherah. He also broke in pieces the bronze serpent that Moses had made, because in those days the children of Israel burned incense to it; and he called it Nehushtan.


He cried against the altar by the word of YHWH, and said, “Altar! Altar! YHWH says: ‘Look, a son will be born to David’s house, Josiah by name. On you he will sacrifice the priests of the high places who burn incense on you, and they will burn human bones on you.’”


I will destroy y’all’s high places, cut down y’all’s incense altars, and cast y’all’s dead bodies upon the bodies of y’all’s idols. My soul will abhor y’all.


but y’all must break down their altars, and dash in pieces their pillars, and y’all must cut down their Asherah poles.


Josiah took away all the abominations out of all the countries that belonged to the children of Israel, and made all who were found in Israel to serve, even to serve YHWH their God. All his days they didn’t depart from following YHWH, the God of their fathers.


“All this is for the disobedience of Jacob, and for the sins of the house of Israel. What is the disobedience of Jacob? Isn’t it Samaria? And what are the high places of Judah? Aren’t they Jerusalem?


They broke down the pillar of Baal, and broke down the house of Baal, and made it a latrine, to this day.


“Turn back, and tell Hezekiah the prince of my people, ‘YHWH, the God of David your father, says, “I have heard your prayer. I have seen your tears. Look, I will heal you. On the third day, you will go up to the house of YHWH.


He built fortified cities in Judah; for the land was quiet, and he had no war in those years, because YHWH had given him rest.


He took away the foreign gods and the idol out of the house of YHWH, and all the altars that he had built in the mountain of the house of YHWH and in Jerusalem, and cast them out of the city.


For you are my hope, Lord YHWH, my confidence from my youth.


Even a child makes himself known by his doings, whether his work is pure, and whether it is right.
