Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense to other gods, so as to provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands, therefore my wrath will be poured out on this place, and it will not be quenched.’”’

Therefore Lord YHWH says: “Surely, my anger and my wrath will be poured out on this place, on man, on animal, on the trees of the field, and on the fruit of the ground; and it will burn and will not be quenched.”


Who can stand before ʜɪꜱ indignation? Who can endure the fierceness of his anger? Hɪꜱ wrath is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken apart by ʜɪᴍ.


All flesh will see that I, YHWH, have kindled it. It will not be quenched.”’”


YHWH has accomplished his wrath. He has poured out his fierce anger. He has kindled a fire in Zion, which has devoured its foundations.


He has bent his bow like an enemy. He has stood with his right hand as an adversary. He has killed all that were pleasant to the eye. In the tent of the daughter of Zion, he has poured out his wrath like fire.


Y’all must circumcise yourselves* to YHWH, and take away the foreskins of y’all’s heart, men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem, or else my wrath will go out like fire and burn so that no one can quench it, because of the of y’all’s evil deeds.


Therefore ʜᴇ poured the fierceness of his anger on ʜɪᴍ, and the strength of battle. It set him on fire all around, but he didn’t know. It burned him, but he didn’t take it to heart.”


He went out to meet Asa, and said to him, “Y’all listen to me, Asa and all Judah and Benjamin! YHWH is with y’all while y’all are with ʜɪᴍ. If y’all seek him, ʜᴇ will be found by y’all, but if y’all abandon him, ʜᴇ will abandon y’all.


In the fifth year of King Rehoboam, Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had trespassed against YHWH,


Because they have forsaken me and have burned incense to other gods and provoke me to anger with all the work of their hands, my wrath burns against this place, and it will not be quenched.’”


When YHWH saw that they humbled themselves, the word of YHWH came to Shemaiah, saying, “They have humbled themselves. I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance, and my wrath won’t be poured out on Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.


But to the king of Judah, who sent y’all to inquire of YHWH, y’all are to tell him this, ‘YHWH, the God of Israel says: “As for the words which you have heard,


Then they will answer, ‘Because they abandoned the covenant of YHWH their God, worshiped and served other gods.’”


Therefore I poured out my wrath on them for the blood which they had poured out on the land, and because they had defiled it with their idols.


They abandoned the house of YHWH, the God of their fathers, and served the Asherah poles and the idols, so wrath came on Judah and Jerusalem for this their guiltiness.


But after our fathers had provoked the God of heaven to wrath, he gave them into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, the Chaldean, who destroyed this house and carried the people away into Babylon.


He has cut off all the horn of Israel in fierce anger. He has drawn back his right hand from before the enemy. He has burned up Jacob like a flaming fire, which devours all around.


Y’all must seek YHWH, so y’all will live, or ʜᴇ will spread out like fire in the house of Joseph, and it devour, and there be no one to quench it in Bethel.
