After these things and this faithfulness, Sennacherib king of Assyria came, entered into Judah, and besieged the fortified cities, intending to win them for himself.

Now therefore, YHWH our God, save us, I beg you, out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you, YHWH, are God alone.”


After all this, when Josiah had prepared the temple, Neco king of Egypt went up to fight against Carchemish by the Euphrates, and Josiah went out against him.


This very day he will halt at Nob. He shakes his hand at the mountain of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.


So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, went away, returned to Nineveh, and stayed there.
