All Israel will mourn for him and bury him; for he only of Jeroboam will come to the grave, because in him there is found some good thing toward YHWH, the God of Israel, in the house of Jeroboam.
Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, “If y’all return to YHWH with all your* heart, then y’all must remove the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from among y’all, and direct y’all’s hearts to YHWH, and serve ʜɪᴍ only. Then ʜᴇ will deliver y’all out of the hand of the Philistines.”
After them, out of all the tribes of Israel, those who set their hearts to seek YHWH, the God of Israel, came to Jerusalem to sacrifice to YHWH, the God of their fathers.
All Judah rejoiced at the oath, for they had sworn with all their heart and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found by them. Then YHWH gave them rest all around.
He sought Ahaziah, and they caught him (now he was hiding in Samaria), and they brought him to Jehu and killed him; and they buried him, for they said, “He is the son of Jehoshaphat, who sought YHWH with all his heart.” The house of Ahaziah had no power to hold the kingdom.
