“Please inquire of YHWH for us, because Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon is warring against us. Perhaps YHWH will deal with us according to all his wondrous works, so that he will withdraw from us.”
David inquired of YHWH, saying, “Should I go up against the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hand?” YHWH said to David, “Go up, and I will deliver-deliver the Philistines into your hand.”
After this, David inquired of YHWH, saying, Should I go up into any of the cities of Judah?” YHWH told to him, “Go up.” David said, “Where should I go up?” Hᴇ said, “To Hebron.”
Therefore David inquired of YHWH, saying, “Should I go and attack these Philistines?” YHWH said to David, “Go and attack the Philistines, and save Keilah.”
But to the king of Judah, who sent y’all to inquire of YHWH, y’all are to tell him this, ‘YHWH, the God of Israel says: “As for the words which you have heard,
“Son of humanity, speak to the elders of Israel, and tell them, ‘Lord YHWH says: “Have y’all come to inquire of me? As I live,” declares Lord YHWH, “I will not let y’all inquire of me.”’
One thing I ask from YHWH, this is what I desire: that I may dwell in the house of YHWH all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of YHWH, and to contemplate in ʜɪꜱ temple.
Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, “Will you go with me to Ramoth Gilead?” He answered him, “I am as you are, and my people as your people. We will be with you in the war.”
Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, four hundred men, and said to them, “Should we go to Ramoth Gilead to battle, or should I refrain?” They said, “Go up, for God will deliver it into the hand of the king.”
