Then the Angel of YHWH went out and struck one hundred and eighty-five thousand men in the camp of the Assyrians. When the people arose early in the morning, there were all dead bodies!
When he had taken counsel with the people, he appointed those who were to sing to YHWH and give praise in holy array as they go out before the army, and say, “Y’all are to give thanks to YHWH, for ʜɪꜱ lovingkindness endures forever.”
Now Naaman, captain of the army of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honorable, because by him YHWH had given victory to Syria; he was also a mighty man of valor, but he was a leper.
YHWH confused Sisera, all his chariots, and all his army, with the edge of the sword before Barak. Sisera abandoned his chariot and fled away on his feet.
YHWH delivered them into the hand of Israel, and they struck them, and chased them to great Sidon, and to Misrephoth Maim, and to the valley of Mizpah eastward. They struck them until they left them no one remaining.
So the people shouted and the priests blew the trumpets. When the people heard the sound of the trumpet, the people shouted with a great shout, and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight in front of him, and they took the city.
When the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, they said, “It is the king of Israel!” Therefore they turned around to fight against him. But Jehoshaphat cried out, and YHWH helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.
Asa cried to YHWH his God, and said, “YHWH, there is no one besides you to help, between the mighty and him who has no strength. Help us, YHWH our God; for we rely on you, and in your name are we come against this multitude. YHWH, you are our God. Don’t let man prevail against you.”
When they began to sing and to praise, YHWH set ambushers against the children of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were struck.
