When YHWH saw that they humbled themselves, the word of YHWH came to Shemaiah, saying, “They have humbled themselves. I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance, and my wrath won’t be poured out on Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.

Pour out your wrath on the nations that don’t know you, on the kingdoms that don’t call on your name,


But ʜᴇ, being merciful, forgave iniquity, and didn’t destroy them. Yes, many times ʜᴇ turned ʜɪꜱ anger away, and didn’t stir up all ʜɪꜱ wrath.


“Y’all go and inquire of YHWH for me, and for those who are left in Israel and in Judah, concerning the words of the book that is found. For great is YHWH’s fury that is poured out on us, because our ancestors have not kept word of YHWH, to do according to all that is written in this book.”


But YHWH was gracious to them, and had compassion on them, and favored them because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them and he didn’t cast them from his presence as yet.


When he humbled himself, YHWH’s wrath turned from him, so as not to destroy him altogether. Moreover, there were good things found in Judah.


because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before God when you heard ʜɪꜱ words against this place and against its inhabitants, and have humbled yourself before me, and have torn your clothes and wept before me, I also have heard you,” says YHWH.


But then, Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that YHWH’s wrath didn’t come on them in the days of Hezekiah.


When he was in distress, he begged YHWH his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers.


He prayed to him; and he was entreated by him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that YHWH was God.
