Soothly David spake to the Lord the words of this song, in the day in which the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul.

They came before me in the day of my tormenting; and the Lord was made my steadfastness.

This thing was made to me; for I sought thy justifyings.

And David was full sorry; certainly all the people would have stoned David, for the soul of each man was bitter on their sons and daughters. Forsooth David was comforted in his Lord God.
