Thou daughter of Zion, make joy withoutforth enough; sing, thou daughter of Jerusalem; lo! thy king shall come to thee, he is just, and a saviour; he is poor, and ascending [or going up] on a she-ass, and on a colt or a foal, the son of a she-ass.
For all this thing was done, that it should be fulfilled, that was said of the Lord by a prophet, saying,
And if any man say to you anything, say ye, that the Lord hath need to them; and anon he shall leave them.

And they led him to Jesus; and they casted their clothes on the colt, and set [or put] Jesus on him.
But on the morrow much people, that came together to the feast day, when they had heard, that Jesus came to Jerusalem,
The daughter of Zion, do not thou dread; lo! thy king cometh, sitting on an ass’s foal [or on the colt of a she-ass].
