Do not ye give stead to the devil.
And Peter said to him, Ananias, why hath Satan tempted thine heart, that thou lie to the Holy Ghost, and to defraud of the price of the field?
Ye most dear brethren, not defending, [or avenging], yourselves, but give ye place to wrath [or ire]; for it is written, The Lord saith, To me vengeance, and I shall yield.
Clothe you with the armour of God, that ye may stand against the ambushings, [or assailings], of the devil.
In all things take ye the shield of faith, in which ye may quench all the fiery darts of him that is most wicked or the worst.
Therefore be ye subject to God; but withstand ye the devil, and he shall flee from you.
Be ye sober, and wake ye, for your adversary, the devil, as a roaring lion goeth about, seeking whom he shall devour.
