A wrathful man raiseth chidings; he that is patient, assuageth chidings that were raised.

And they held Jesus, and led him to Caiaphas, the prince of priests, where the scribes and the Pharisees, and the elder men of the people were come together [or where the scribes and the elder men of the people had come together].

and they laid hands on the apostles, and put them in the common ward [or the common keeping].

And when they had brought them, they set them in the council; and the prince of priests asked them,

Then they privily sent men, that should say, that they [have] heard him saying words of blasphemy against Moses and God.
