Then the king went into his house, and slept without supper, and meats were not brought before him; further-more and sleep went away from him.

And I setted my face to my Lord God, to pray and beseech in fastings, in sackcloth, and ashes.

Who knoweth, if God be converted, and forgive, and be turned away from strong vengeance of his wrath, and we shall not perish?

And he was three days not seeing; and he ate not, neither drank.

And Joshua rent his clothes, and he fell down low to the earth before the ark of the Lord, unto the eventide, as well he, as all the elder men of Israel; and they casted powder on their heads.
