Forsooth the residue of the words of Jeroboam II, and all things that he did, and the strength of him, by which he fought, and how he restored Damascus, and Hamath of Judah, in Israel, whether these be not written in the book of [the] words of [the] days of the kings of Israel?

And David setted [or put] a strong-hold in Syria of Damascus, and Syria was made serving David under tribute. And the Lord kept David in all things, to whatever things he went forth.

and [he] gathered men against him, and was made the prince of thieves, when David killed them of Zobah; and they went to Damascus, and dwelled there; and they made him king in Damascus.

And I shall all-break the bars, [or locks], of Damascus, and I shall lose a dweller from the field of idol, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of lust and of lechery; and the people of Syria shall be translated to Kir, saith the Lord.
