At that time, Herod the tetrarch heard the report concerning Yeshua,

For Herod had arrested Yochanan, bound him, and put him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife.

But when Herod’s birthday came, the daughter of Herodias danced amongst them and pleased Herod.

Tell us therefore, what do you think? Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”

They bound him, led him away, and delivered him up to Pontius Pilate, the governor.

For Herod himself had sent out and arrested Yochanan and bound him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife, for he had married her.

Then a convenient day came when Herod on his birthday made a supper for his nobles, the high officers, and the chief men of Galilee.

On that same day, some Pharisees came, saying to him, “Get out of here and go away, for Herod wants to kill you.”

Now in those days, a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be enrolled.

Pilate decreed that what they asked for should be done.

but Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him for Herodias, his brother’s wife, and for all the evil things which Herod had done,

Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done by him; and he was very perplexed, because it was said by some that Yochanan had risen from the dead,

“Claudius Lysias to the most excellent governor Felix: Greetings.

But when two years were fulfilled, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus, and desiring to gain favour with the Judeans, Felix left Paul in bonds.

The king rose up with the governor and Bernice, and those who sat with them.

“For truly, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together against your holy servant Yeshua, whom you anointed,
