“If my heart has been enticed to a woman, and I have laid wait at my neighbour’s door,

One who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.

but I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.

It shall be, if you have no delight in her, then you shall let her go where she desires; but you shall not sell her at all for money. You shall not deal with her as a slave, because you have humbled her.

then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city, and you shall stone them to death with stones; the lady, because she didn’t cry, being in the city; and the man, because he has humbled his neighbour’s wife. So you shall remove the evil from amongst you.

then the man who lay with her shall give to the lady’s father fifty shekels of silver. She shall be his wife, because he has humbled her. He may not put her away all his days.

The men of Israel said to the Hivites, “What if you live amongst us? How could we make a covenant with you?”

Samson went down to Timnah, and saw a woman in Timnah of the daughters of the Philistines.

Gaal the son of Ebed said, “Who is Abimelech, and who is Shechem, that we should serve him? Isn’t he the son of Jerubbaal? Isn’t Zebul his officer? Serve the men of Hamor the father of Shechem, but why should we serve him?
